Bunyip Pony Club meets every month (except January) on the second Sunday at our Grounds in Pound Road. We currently have 38 members, and currently work in riding groups of 6 riders.

During the day our members enjoy instruction in all areas of riding and horsemastership. Dressage, jumping, cross country, active games, care and maintenance of horse and equipment are covered with the help of our experienced instructors. We also have occasional alternate rallies including trail/navigation rides.

Upon joining you will be given a grading card which must be presented to your instructor at the beginning of each rally, it will then be marked with your attendance and your mount and ability details. You will be expected to purchase a uniform, although this is not essential for the first few rallies. You will however be required to have an approved helmet (see below), correct footwear and a medical armband prior to being permitted to ride. The gear used on your horse must be safe, fit the horse correctly, and in good repair.

Our grounds are located at Pound Road Bunyip, and consist of a 60m x 90m all weather arena, 2 show jumping arenas, 40 acres of an extensive cross country course that covers all grades, and an enclosed, secure arena for our younger riders

Our official uniform is a white shirt with yellow tie and/or official PCV polo shirt (short or long sleeve) and/or PCV Skivvy

Green woollen jumper with white stripe on collar & cuff or Official PCV Polar Fleece Jumper.

Jodhpurs in white, oatmeal, banana, fawn, dark green, navy, dark brown or black; no patterns

Short riding boots or long boots must be fully soled, smooth leather or rubber synthetic material (shallow ripple allowable)

Approved Helmet (At least one of the complying standards: AS/NZS 3838, EN1384/VG01.040, ASTMF1163, PAS015)

A further selection of items are available for use at rallies only including club polo, spray jacket etc.

Parental Support

It is a condition of membership that parents help out during the year.

We are a small but active club, which holds 3-4 outside events each year. We are dependent on these fundraisers for financing equipment, instructors and upkeep of our extensive grounds.

We are all volunteers and everyone is expected to contribute irrespective of child's age, ability or interest. Being a member of Bunyip Pony Club means a commitment, not only for the child but for parents also, at both rallies and organised events. which may include such things as setting up jumps or games equipment, helping out in the canteen or stewarding on a cross country jump.

We also require help with grounds maintenance, usually in the form of group working bees.
